Various associations contribute the provision of health services. The public health is concerned with overall provisions of health of the community- based on population health analysis. The population can be large or small which ensure public safety. The public health is divided into biostatistics, epidemiology and health service. Other essential fields include environmental, occupational, behavioral and social health. The leadership and the general management of hospital networks, health care centers and hospital fall under health system management. The US hospital management is referred to as health care management, or health administration or medical and health service management (Shortell & Kaluzny, 2000, p 123).
Health service organization and management is a broad course that encompasses varieties of health care delivery systems. Various groups provide and practice services for the private practice of health professional and practices of medicine. Various providers of health care are represented by associations which are created for the purpose of representing the interests of their constituents and fostering their discipline. Such associations include American medical association, the pharmaceutical manufactures association, and the American medical association. There are also other state and local health care associations. (Swayne, Duncan, & Ginter, 2006, p68)
American medical association
The American Medical association was founded in 1847. It is a large association of physicians and medical students in the United States. The Association has the mission of promoting science and art of medicine for the betterment of the general public. It also aims at promoting public health; lobby for legislations that would favor patients and physician and to advance their interest. The association raises money for medical education. Health maintenance organization manages health care through utilization review. This is through the monitoring of doctors to see if they are performing and providing medical services to patients more than other doctors. HMO provides preventive care at a lower fee. Certain out patient’s services such as mammograms, well-baby check up, and physicals. Out patient services are not provided by the HMO because of their high cost.HMO takes great care of involvement in assigning a case manager to an individual patient or group of patients. The association also ensures that patients receive high quality care. Health maintenance organization is a type of health group which provides basic and supplemental treatment and health maintenance services. This service is provided to particular enrollees who may periodic fee which is not determined by the kind and amount of service received
Support organizations of health care various include primarily providers and secondary providers. Secondary providers include organizations that play health care and pharmaceuticals, education institutions and those that provide medical supplies and equipments. The American Medical Association has succeeded in supporting research, funding for fellows and students around the US, provided community health, health care education, and funded community services. The associations provide funds awareness projects about health literacy. AMA has been awarded for the best association that has significantly contributed to the field of medical science.
A potential organization
Organizations that offer health care are mostly non governmental organizations. They face the challenges of resource constraints and government inefficiencies. A potential organization dealing with health care is that which policy development gives it a chance to regulate and coordinate health care provisions. These policies promote competition and diversity in health care provisions. Potential organization are affiliated to religious organization, union and trade union and other organizations dealing with occupational health services, support services, social welfare, and health maintenance organization(Gilson, Sen, Mohammed, Mujinja, 1994, p 14-24)
